About UWSPA
Professional collaboration and referrals for NYC clinicians
The UWS Psychotherapy Alliance (UWSPA) is a professional listserv created to support collaboration, referrals, and community among licensed mental health clinicians and advanced trainees serving the Greater New York City area.
The UWSPA was founded in 2011 by Ari Fox, LCSW-R, the founder of Cope With School NYC, to build community, collaboration and trusted referral relationships among mental health clinicians and allied professionals in NYC.
UWSPA provides a trusted peer-based space where clinicians can share referrals, exchange professional resources, and connect across specialties while upholding confidentiality, professionalism, and respect.
Why Join UWSPA
A trusted referral and professional networking resource for NYC clinicians
Mental health clinicians join UWSPA to strengthen their professional referral network and connect with colleagues practicing across the Greater New York City area.
UWSPA supports clinicians in finding trusted referrals for clients whose needs fall outside one’s scope, availability, or specialty, while also providing opportunities to receive referrals from colleagues seeking appropriate care for their own clients.
In a large and complex city like New York, identifying appropriate referrals can be time-consuming and challenging.
UWSPA serves therapists, psychologists, social workers, psychoanalysts, psychiatrists, and other licensed mental health clinicians practicing throughout New York City, including the Upper West Side, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and surrounding boroughs. The community supports clinicians across practice settings who value ethical referrals, professional collaboration, and high-quality care for clients in the Greater NYC area.
